Meeting Death & Grief

in a Soul-centered way

Honoring you for making the brave choice to be here…

My intention is for you to find a balm for your Soul in working together,

Navigating the death and dying portals can activate so much within us. I know this because I arrive to this space utterly transformed by Death & Grief. A transformation that found me after the sudden death of my beloved Mother. Her death led me to find The Nine Keys Death Midwifery Apprenticeship, created by the incredible Narinder Elizabeth Bazen, where, for 8 months, I was immersed in deep study & listening.

Death and grief continue to shape who I am and how I show up in this world.

My work as a Death Midwife and Grief Support Companion is to serve as a guide, educator, advocate, & bridge for you and yours throughout this journey.

My death work is rooted in Soul & Sanctity, with my heart being the integral compass. The care, presence and support I provide is compassionate, honest and open hearted. I offer emotional & spiritual support + my ability to weave in the energetics of the seen and unseen realms to bring forth intuitive insights and invitations for healing…for the living, the dying and the departed.

When death and deathly things touch our lives, time can feel chaotic and spirally. As you know, waves of emotions, feelings and responsibilities may arise in overwhelming & complicated ways. Because of this, I offer an urgent or non-urgent 30-min complimentary consultation. During our call we can figure out, together, how I can best serve you and your specific needs.

If you haven’t worked with me in this capacity before, I encourage you to schedule a 30-min complimentary consultation with me first and we can go from there.

It would be my honor to guide you through this journey

“Let us meet death with open hearts. Let us be guided and transformed by it. Let us be educated & empowered when we show up to it.”

-Rebecca

“When my soul-sistar, Rebecca, asked me to be a part of her Home Funeral Demonstration, I felt very proud and I wanted to support her in her journey, but in all honesty, I did feel very reluctant and nervous.  Reluctant about the mystery of having no idea what to expect during this process and nervous about the feelings that would come up for me.  After agreeing, she sent us a beautiful invitation and informed us of what to wear and bring.  When I arrived, the space felt so warm and cozy and beautiful and each of us involved had brought meaningful herbs, flowers, and items that we laid out.  It felt very sacred and special from the start.  As she informed us very thoroughly of how we would prepare our loved one's body, I began to relax.  I was surprised that when we began the process, everything felt so intuitive... almost like a dance between all involved.  The energy that encircled us felt like HOLY LOVE.  I felt very calm and focused with the process.  Rebecca was not shy or embarrassed in telling us exactly what we should expect when washing, moving, and dressing our loved one.  She was right there guiding and helping us the whole time.  I felt extremely grateful for all the knowledge and held by her thoughtfulness in sharing every detail of what to expect.  It didn't feel scary; it felt like the most beautiful & caring way to honor the body of our loved one.  At the end, with our friend shrouded in silk and flowers, it felt so peaceful.  I imagined our loved one's spirit watching us feeling so cared for and honored.  I am so grateful for having gone through this demonstration.  I absolutely trust Rebecca as a guide in this process.  She operates with so much care & reverence.  I wish for everyone to experience this level of love and dignity.  To honor and be honored in this way feels so sacred”.

Listen to what inspired my death & grief journey.

Episode Description written by Jonathan Koe.

How do we show up in our full, authentic humanity at the portal of grief? How can we allow the grief of loss to co-exist with the pleasure of companionship? How does grief show up to teach us about our innate creativity?

Right after recording this conversation with my dear friend and incredible artist-healer Rebecca Lopez Mullins, I knew that we were supposed to share it during Scorpio season.

Centered around the grief of suddenly losing her mother earlier this year, Rebecca and I weaved a conversation that explored the expansion and deepening of her relationships with her own gifts, her husband, her son, her sisters, and her community.

We also spoke about how Rebecca’s artistic practice became her spiritual practice, how tapping into the artist within and the larger ecosystem of relationality helped her channel her Altar Companions collection, and how her work connected her to ancestral wisdom.

I feel so honored to share this conversation. Rebecca has shown up as a teacher, a conduit for the wisdom medicine of grief and creativity for me at a time when I needed it deeply. Rebecca’s willingness to show up so fully to this conversation is such a gift. I invite you to show up with an open heart to this profound conversation.”

a rich conversation about Death Work as Collective Liberation work…

Episode Description written by Ellen Wong, host of MUM the podcast

In this MUM episode, Death Midwife and Artist Rebecca Mullins shares about death work being collective liberation work, and how her experience of her mother’s sudden passing led to the creation of a ritual offering that supports the dead in crossing over.
